Abstract

398,446. Sectional boilers. KITCHEN, J., Holmfield, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, and BALMFORTH & CO., Ltd., T., Luton, Bedfordshire. April 12, 1933, No. 10987. [Class 123 (ii).] In a boiler having water walls enclosing the firebox, the sections have integral T-shaped extensions 28, 29 forming the flow and return connections which are joined by flanges 30 in the planes in which the sections abut. The transverse water spaces 7 in the front and middle sections 1, 2 form the crown of the firebox. A transverse water space 9 in the middle section registers with the upper part of the water space 8 of the rear section 3. The flues 10 .. 13 are traversed by vertical water tubes.
