Abstract
414,626. Rotary engines. SOC. ANON. ALESSANDRO CALZONI, Santa Viola, Bologna, Italy. April 24, 1934, No. 12364. Convention date, April 24, 1933. [Class 110 (ii).] The pump or engine casing is built up of a series of curved members A pivoted by pins P to blocks B, C, which are slidable radially. A rotor R with sliding vanes rotates within the casing. The eccentricity of the rotor is varied by actuation of a handle L which, by means of eccentrics E, causes two diametrically opposite blocks to slide outwards and two blocks to slide towards the rotor. Working fluid flows in from ports X through spaces arranged laterally between the members A and outwards to ports Y. The fluid flow may be reversed by manipulation of the handle L. In the case of suction and delivery ports being in the shaft itself, the spaces between each series of members A are dispensed with.
