Abstract

252,075. McCallum, J., and Anderson, H. P. H. Feb. 18, 1925. Fixed-abutment type; packing drums and vanes; valve-gear; valves, distributing; balancing moving parts.-Rotary pumps or engines have a vane 11, Fig. 1, turning on a fixed centric pin 14 and sliding through a bearing 10 which rocks in an eccentric rotor 3. The vane 11 has a counterweight 13 and is fitted with end and side packing-strips 12 pressed out by springs and the bearing 10 is also provided with packing. The inlet and outlet valves 16, 17 are timed and driven by the rotor. The inlet and outlet pipes are provided with reversing-valves. When used as a pump, the rotary valves are dispensed with and the outlet fitted with a non-return valve. The end covers and casing are each made in two parts. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 23150/10.
