265,858. Houghton, F. E. July 21, 1926. Fixed-abutment type; packing vanes. - In a pump or engine with a fixed casing 1, an oscillating vane 7 is provided at 8 to a revoluble cylinder 2, and is given its oscillatng movement by a roller on a fixed eccentric pin 9 engaging a slot 10 in the vane. The vane has a spring-pressed packing-member 23 bearing on a curved strip 22. Inlet and outlet ports 15, 16 are formed in the cover 11, and either may communicate by means of a duct 21 with the slot 10 to provide an outlet for trapped water.
