Abstract

485,488. Rotary blowers. ELLOR, J. E. Dec. 30, 1936, No. 35708. [Class 110 (ii)] A multi-casing blower has a rotating sleeve valve E containing slots F in its periphery which co-operate with the blower delivery ports and receive the compressed mixture. The latter passes off axially to an internal-combustion engine which drives the rotors and sleeve by external gear-wheels. The casing, or casings B, may be limaþon-shaped having a single vane C<3> sliding through a rotor C<2> to drive fluid from an inlet C to an outlet C<1>. The vanes may be kept clear from the casings by means of rollers on their ends, or they may be secured to a crank or eccentric. A flap G<1> on each inlet port may be hinged outwardly to vary the size of the ports or a flexible member G<3> may be caused to slide circumferentially.
