Abstract
661,734. Rotary engines and compressors. ALUJA, J. M. July 1, 1949. [July 6, 1948; April 2, 1949] Nos. 17479/49 and 17480/49. Class 110(ii). The engine or compressor of the sliding- vane type is provided with diametricallyopposite inlet and outlet ports, and a rigid spindle 17 secured to a casing closure cap 15' and positioned concentrically within the casing 1, the spindle carrying a roller or sleeve 19 upon which the inner ends of the vanes bear. The driving shaft 12 is supported in bearings 8 and drives an eccentric rotor 7 carrying the vanes. A stuffing-box 15, Fig. 2 (not shown), is provided. Fig. 5 shows another arrangement in which end members 21, 22, secured together, may be moved vertically on rotation of a spindle 24<SP>1</SP>, to vary the capacity of the chamber.
