Abstract

329,646. Ricardo, H. R. Feb. 18, 1929. Fixed-abutment type; discharge and suction passages for pumps and blowers.-Rotary pumps, blowers, or engines, with hinged overlapping vanes E, have the vanes secured by fusible metal within tubular bearing sleeves D<2> mounted on cylindrical sockets within the rotor D. The vanes E may have inturned ends El engaging the outer drum B which may be freely rotatable. The curvature of each vane may be uniform or variable, increasing from its inner edge to its outer edge. The inlet and outlet ports A<2>, A<3> are provided either in the wall of the outer drum B or in one or both end-plates A<1> which may be fixed and be carried by or form part of the outer casing A. The edge of each vane is divided into sections E<3>, E<4> bent in opposite directions to receive the fusible metal E<5>. Specification 329,663 is referred to.
