Fixed-abutment type; valve gear and valveactuating mechanism.-In rotary engines of the fixed abutment type, the rotor 5 has outwardly sliding vanes 6 forced outwards by trapped fluid contained in intercommunicating cylinders 8 behind the vanes. Suitable reversing valves 4 are fitted to the inlet and exhaust ports 2, 3.
