Valve gear.-A rotary valve A is driven at a non-uniform speed, so that it moves more quickly when opening or closing the ports, by means of worm gearing I, the worm of which is slid along its shaft by a swash plate L running between fixed rollers M. Valves.-The valve is divided by a partition into two chambers opening respectively to inlet E and exhaust C at opposite ends of the valve. Ports B, D in the two chambers communicate successively with the port of one or more cylinders.
