Abstract
348,920. Rotary pumping machines. SOC. ANON. BIROTOR, 161, Rue St. HonorÚ, Paris. June 13, 1930, No. 18149. Convention date, July 13, 1929. [Class 110 (ii).] A pumping unit comprises a hydraulic turbine combined with a rotary pump of the positive displacement type, the hub of one member forming the body of the other member, and the shaft serving as the delivery pipe. In the construction shown the turbine hub B carrying the turbine vanes A serves as the pump casing; the casing is divided by a partition b<1> into two chambers in each of which is a rotor C supported by an eccentric k on a fixed shaft K on which the cover plate b of the turbine hub rotates. A piston vane G rigidly secured to the casing B engages slots in the two rotors C. Water enters by ports H in the hub and is discharged through ports I in the rotors C and ports J in the eccentrics to the fixed hollow shaft K.
