Abstract

414,145. Cylinders. JONES, E. H., and WILLIAMS, S., 16, Church Street, Isling- ton, London. Feb. 3, 1933, No. 3402. [Class 7 (ii).] To facilitate lubrication, a liner A has formed therein a series of shallow grooves B in which the lubricant lodges, the grooves being intermittent or of wave form. The space C between the grooves may be inclined to the line of piston travel. The liner is formed of stainless steel, a suitable alloy containing chromium 18 per cent, and nickel 8 per cent.
