[Class 122 (i).] Wearing-rings c for the pistonrings b are made in halves and attached to the piston a at e by caulking or welding. The wearing-rings are mounted on one or both sides of the piston-rings according to whether the engine is of the single or double acting type. In the latter case the rings c replace the piston-ring lands.
