Abstract

484,490. Piston-rings. HUNTLY, O. Nov. 5, 1936, No. 30182. [Class 122 (i)] A pair of rings 2, 3 are pressed axially and radially by V-shaped strip metal tongues 5 extending between them. The tongues are bent outwardly from a strip 4 and engage bevelled edges on both rings, Fig. 3, or a bevelled edge on one ring and the flat face of the other, Fig. 4. The outer edges of the rings may be bevelled at 2b, 3b, the rings in the construction shown in Fig. 4 being interchangeable.
