Abstract

410,955. Leading-in conductors for electric incandescent lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and FOXON, F. A., c/o General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. March 27, 1933, No. 9170. [Class 39 (ii).] In a conductor for conveying electric currents, more particularly heavy currents, through vitreous envelopes, a metal thimble 2, sealed at its edge 3 to the vitreous envelope 1, has part of its wall deformed to provide at the same time external and internal screw-threads to engage respectively a thread 5 in the part of a conductor 4 on one side of the envelope, and a thread 7 on the part of the conductor 6 on the other side. In the example the thread 5 is formed by coiling into a helix the lower end of a stout wire 4 which may form a support for part of the electrode system of a valve or a support for a lamp filament.
