<PICT:0407787/IV/1> <PICT:0407787/IV/2> In order to prevent the resilient covering of squeezing rollers for treating fabrics, yarns &c. from becoming concave, their end portions are either tapered or made of more resilient material, while the material is traversed slowly along the rollers during treatment. As shown in Fig. 3, the upper roller A<2> covered with fabric, rubber or gutta percha has its ends tapered at A<1>. The guide C for feeding the yarns &c. from the dyeing vat V may be perforated or notched and is mounted on a shaft S reciprocated by gearing driven from the bottom roller B. In a modification, the roller A, Fig. 1, has end zones A<3> of more resilient material than that of the covering A<2>.
