Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 23, 1932]. [Class 35.] Alternating-current commutator machines.- The excitation of constant speed alternating or continuous-current machines having the main field windings series connected is regulated by the provision of auxiliary field windings having adjustable resistances in their circuit. As shown, the auxiliary windings 8, 9, 10 are connected between the resistance 14 and the junctions of the main windings 5, 6, 7 with the compensating windings 2, 3, 4 whilst these junctions are also connected to auxiliary windings 11, 12, 13 connected to resistance 15 through a third set of auxiliary windings 16, 17 18 which may, however, be omitted.
