Abstract
356,924. Alternating current induction machines. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges. ; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) Aug. 27, 1930, No. 25585. [Class 35.] A split-phase induction motor has a capacity connected to the auxiliary phase through a transformer, and an additional voltage is produced at the terminals of the capacity by means of an additional transformer winding. As shown in the Figure, the condenser k is connected to the secondary winding e of a transformer r, the primary c of which is in series with the auxiliary phase winding b. The transformer also has an additional winding a<1> carrying the total motor current. The voltage at the terminals of the condenser accordingly varies with the motor current so that the current in the auxiliary phase also varies and the torque is produced equally by the main and auxiliary phases for all loads. The winding a<1> may carry the current of the main phase a only. An autotransformer may be employed. Specification 22852/97, [Class 37, Electricity, Measuring &c.], is referred to.
