436,168. Automatic regulation. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. May 4, 1934, No. 13561. Convention date, May 6, 1933. [Class 38 (iv)] The excitation winding of the vibratory magnet 8 of a Tirrill type regulator and the windings of the intermediate relay are additionally influenced by a constant direct current obtained by rectification at 11 from the A.C. voltage source 1 to be controlled. The exciter machine 3 is connected in series with the rectifier 11 and feeds the excitation winding 8 through the resistance 12, the regulator operating in known manner to short circuit the resistance 5 in the field winding of the machine 3. The two voltages are connected in series with a resistance 13 for the supply to the windings of the intermediate relay 7.
