Abstract

Application for addition to 419,991. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 4, 1934]. [Class 35] Exciting.-A generator to be driven by a combustion engine at a constant speed with varying load as described in the parent Specification is excited by a generator the field of which is in series with the main generator in combination with a constant voltage source such as a battery or a second generator arranged as hereinafter described. In the arrangement shown two exciting generators e<1>, e<2> are employed in series having fields g, k excited by a battery f and fields h, i in series with the main generator a. The two fields of the generator e<1> assist each other and those of the generator e<2> oppose each other. The generator e<1> may be omitted and the battery f connected in series with the generator e<2>.
