403,595. Coking processes. STILL, C., Recklinghausen, Westphalia, Germany, and GOBIET, A., Karvinna, Czecho-Slovakia. Aug. 1, 1933, No. 21590. Convention date, Aug. 1, 1932. Addition to 389,377. [Class 55 (i).] In a coking process of the kind described in the parent Specification, in which steam is admitted to the charge in a coke oven through tubes embedded in the charge, two oven chambers are interconnected so that the water gas and unconverted steam from the first oven are passed into the charge in the second oven and the finished water gas led away. Steam from a pipe 22b is passed into the charge in oven 1b through tubes 20b extending vertically into the charge, and the resulting gases pass through an uptake 9b and branch 69b into a pipe 22a leading to tubes 20a in oven 1a, from which the gases escape by outlet 9a.
