Abstract

288,337. Pintsch & Dr. Otto. Ges., J. April 7, 1927, [Convention date]. Coke ovens. - The excess gas pressure in the lower part of freshly charged chambers of coke ovens is relieved by connecting the chambers through pipes a, b between which are valves c, so that the high gas pressure in one chamber is relieved by the passage of gas through the pipes to another in which the charge has been nearly completely coked. When the coking of the fresh charge has proceeded to a certain extent the valve c to the particular chamber is closed so that each chamber is again working independently of the others.
