Abstract
418,095. Coking processes. STILL GES., C., Recklinghausen, Westphalia, Germany. Jan. 12, 1934, No. 1197. Convention date, Jan. 12, 1933. [Class 55 (i).] In the use of a coke oven in which means are provided for withdrawing the distillates both from the interior of the charge by detachable suction tubes 3, and from the space in the oven over the charge by an ascension pipe 10, during the first hours of coking all the gases are led to the collecting main 6 for the " inner " gas, the suction tubes not being placed in position. Connection between the gas collecting space 9 over the charge and the inner gas main may be made by gas conduits 7 with regulating devices 8. At a later stage, the removal of the " outer " and " inner " gases occurs separately until the tar seams in the charge close together, at which point the gas suction tubes 3 are removed, and the collecting main for the " inner " gas is disconnected from the oven concerned. The gases are again removed either via the gas collecting space to the inner gas main, or as " outer " gases.
