Abstract
400,837. Liquid sprayers. HAY, R. S., Smith's Motor Services, East Dean Road, Eastbourne.-(Esterling, W. M. ; 726, West 1st Street, Long Beach, California, U.S.A.) March 14, 1933, No. 7724. [Class 69 (iii).] A liquid sprayer suitable for use as a liquidfuel burner comprises a cylindrical body 1 having an inlet 17 for liquid under high pressure and fitted with adjustable stem 4 carrying a detachable pin 8 formed with a number of straight or helical ribs 10 and a valve head 7, the liquid passages between the ribs 10 being long relatively to the discharge passage between the head 7 and the flared end 6 of the body 1. The stem 4 may be adjusted by turning a stem 12 which has a threaded portion engaging a cross-member 14 attached to the body 1 and an oppositely threaded portion engaging an internally threaded head 11 on the stem 4. Rotation of the head 11 is prevented by a key connection with a fixed cross-member 24. In a modification the stem 4 carries a slotted member to which the valve head is attached and in a further modification a detachable nozzle head formed with a flared seating 6 is screwed on the body 1.
