Abstract

446,124. Fuel-injection pumps. ADLER, S., 5, Westchffe Road, Roker, Sunderland. Jan. 26, 1935. No. 2670. [Class 102 (i)] A fuel-injection pump comprises a plunger k guided in a sleeve m. A control sleeve g having suction ports is mounted upon the plunger k and is also guided by a fixed piston d which is a loose fit in the casing f and is provided with a conical or spherical surface which may be ground into a similar seating in the casing to obtain alignment of the various parts. The fixed piston d carries the delivery valve c and its end is shaped to fit the end of the delivery pipe which is held in place by the union nut b. The underside of the sleeve g abuts a spring h so that should the regulating mechanism to the pinion e become disconnected the sleeve will rise to reduce the pump delivery. Specification 402,886 is referred to.
