466,477. Fuel-injection pumps. BELLEM, L. H. L. Jan. 6, 1937, No. 381. Convention date, Jan. 7, 1936. [Class 102 (i)] A fuel-injection pump in which the pump piston 7 and the cylinder 6 move downwardly together until the end of the cylinder engages the seat 21 and shuts off the suction port 3 when delivery through valve 22 commences. A wedge-shaped surface 13 on a sleeve 10 is secured to the piston by screw threads and during the delivery stroke, the surface 13 moves the balls 15 which act against the conical surface 16 and lifts the cylinder 6 whereby delivery ceases. The sleeve 10 is adjusted relatively to the plunger by a rack 20 mounted on a rod common to other pumps and engaging teeth on the sleeve. A port in the spring abutment 24 is smaller than the port in the seating 21 so that when the valve 22 closes drip is prevented.
