398,590. Oscillating disc valves. HARTLEY, E., 3, Dartmouth Avenue, Newcastle-under-Lyme. May 4, 1932, No. 12808. [Class 135.] An oscillating disc valve 10, Figs. 2 and 3, pivoted at 12, has the actuating lever 17 pivoted to the disc at 18 so as to swing freely in one direction, whilst in the other direction it is adapted to engage, with an impact blow, against a stop 19 on the disc, said stop then acting as a kind of fulcrum for the lever so that the disc valve is released from its wedge securing means 13, 15, 16 by the combined forces of impact and leverage. The casing or valve seating may be provided with a curved quadrant 23, Fig. 2, with holes 22, with any one of which a hole in the lever may be brought to coincide and a locking pin 20 inserted to retain the valve in any desired open position of adjustment.
