Abstract

210,178. Barty, T., and Westinghouse Brake & Saxby Signal Co., Ltd. Oct. 31, 1922. Oscillating disc valves.-A valve device particularly applicable for use as end valves on the steamheating pipes used on railway vehicles and of the kind having an oscillating disc valve operated by a lever, has the operating lever arranged to rotate in a plane at right-angles to the plane of the valve and is so connected to the valve as to transmit rotational movement only. The actuating lever 15 has a slot 16 engaging a pin 14 on a shaft 11 rotatably mounted in the casing. The valve member 7 is carried by a member 10 mounted on the shaft 11 and is pressed towards its seat by a spring 9. The valve member and seat are provided with passages 18, 17 so that when the valve is closed the outlet is connected to atmosphere. The member 14 may be forked to engage the actuating lever.
