[Class 135] [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXXIV] In a pipe coupling for a fluid-pressure brake system a valve 61 in one or both coupling members 50 is adapted to be kept open by the pressure in the pipe-line acting on a diaphragm 65 and to be closed by a spring 62 on disconnection of the coupling only when the pressure has fallen to a predetermined value. The valves may have projections which contact to open the valves on coupling or they may be actuated by fluid pressure only. The valves may be separately actuated by a cam surface 82, plunger 80 and lever 84. Specification 547,736 is referred to.
