Abstract

511,949. Hydraulic transmission systems. PRATT, J. H., MANLEY, G. E., and GIRLING, A. H. G. Feb 24, 1938, No. 5824. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] An hydraulic transmission system for brakes, aircraft controls &c. comprises a valve 5 located in a chamber 4 communicating with the reservoir by passages 4b, 7a and with the master cylinder by passage 4a which is closed by the initial movement of the master piston 6. When the piston 6 is operated to apply the brakes it first closes a passage 7b which normally provides a full flow of fluid from the reservoir; the pressure then generated causes the valve 5 to close the passage leading to the reservoir and finally the piston closes the passage 4a. Specification 511,546. [Group XXVI], is referred to.
