Abstract

495,751. Hydraulic brakes. WEIHE, H. K. April 28, 1938, No. 12787. Convention date, April 28, 1937. [Class 103 (i)] A hydraulic transmission brake comprises a master cylinder 8 having a connection controlled by a non-return valve 10 and a connection 26 controlled by the master piston 5, and normally open in release, to a reservoir 11 of liquid acted on by a spring piston 15 which maintains a slight pressure in the system and prevents the formation of a vacuum. A spring controlled valve 18 allows the reservoir to be filled from the top. Excess fluid which flows from the reservoir past the valve 10 on release, returns to the reservoir through the port 26.
