Abstract

396,584. Mounting vehicle bodies. BUGATTI, J., 20, Rue Boissiere, Paris. Oct. 27, 1932, No. 30174. Convention date, Oct. 27,1931. [Classes 103 (vi) and 108 (ii).] A method of securing and connecting a vehicle body to its chassis includes embedding a member c fixed to the body or chassis in a mass d of rubber or other elastic material carried in a housing e secured to the chassis or to the body, means, e.g. a stud l, being provided for varying the degree of compression in the rubber. In a modification the stud is replaced by a plate bearing on one face of the rubber and controlled by one or two studs. The member c may be cylindrical with quadrants thereof removed and the thickness of rubber on one side of the member c may be greater than that on the other.
