Abstract
1362221 Leaf spring and non-metallic spring combinations RESSORTS DU NORD SA 7 July 1971 [7 July 1970] 31923/71 Heading F2S A leaf-spring assembly, e.g. of a vehicle suspension, has, between an end surface 1a or 1c of a leaf spring 5 or 4 and a second surface 2a or 2c, a ball 3 of elastomeric material such as rubber, natural or synthetic polyisoprenes, polychloroprene, butadiene-acrylonitrile, polyurethane and cross-linked polymers, to act as a shock-absorber and damper; the end and second surfaces are surfaces of revolution (or one may be planar) and only one of them is concave. In Fig. 1, the second surface 2a is that of a main leaf-spring 4 while in Fig. 4, the second surface 2c is that of a fixed shoe 6. (For Figures see next column.)
