Abstract

1,213,891. Spring suspensions. TIJGER PLASTICS N.V. 27 Aug., 1968, No. 40885/68. Heading B7D. [Also in Division F2] A buffer element to serve as a shock absorber for leaf spring assemblies has a sphericalshaped body 5 of elastic material such as polyvinyl chloride. The body 5 may be hollow, may be inflated through a valve 6 in the wall thereof, and is provided with portions 8 having a gap 9 therein to receive a strap 10, for example, which may be made of elastic material. The buffer element is attached to the upper side of a leaf spring 4 by means of the strap 10 which has an eyelet 11 at one end thereof and a hook 12 at the other end. The buffer element may also be attached to the spring 4 by means of a tension spring having a hook at each end thereof. The spring assembly is connected by its ends 2 to a vehicle chassis beam 3 and the buffer element is positioned between the latter and the upper spring 4.
