Abstract
837,568. Vehicle rail cleaners. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO Ltd. Aug. 1, 1958 [Aug. 2, 1957], No- 24594/57. Class 103(3) A vehicle rail scraper comprises a laminated block of rubber and non-ferrous metal leaves 1 adapted to engage a rail R, transversely. The block 1 is secured in a stirrup 2 by a rivet 3, the stirrup being provided with a shank 4 which passes though an apertured dome 6 of a rectangular housing 5 forming part of a vehicle brake shoe as described in Specification 837,567. A spring 7 on the shank is disposed between the dome 6 and the stirrup 2 and the spring tension is adjustable by a nut 8 on the shank the nut also retaining the scraper within the housing.
