In a resilient mounting, which is to be loaded in compression, the load is applied to a block 6 by plate like members 8, each of which is freely received in a slot or pocket 9 which passes through the block 6. The block 6 of rubber-like material, may be solid or may have a hole 12 as described in Specification 852,546.
