Abstract

893,346. Rectilinear-motion bearings. GENT Ltd., RICHARD. May 13, 1960 [May 13, 1959], No. 16437/59. Class 12 (1). In a rectilinear-motion bearing-unit a ball 2 is held in a block moulded of resilient material 1 so that less than half of the ball stands proud of the block to allow the ball to engage an edge of a panel 6 mounted thereon. The block 1 may be rectangular and have screw-holes 5 therein. The ball 2 is forced into position in the block and a rim 3 prevents its escape therefrom. In a modification a unit 7, Fig. 3, comprises two units 1 connected by an integral web 8 which may be clamped in position by a member 10.
