464,621. Indiarubber springs. GETEFO GES. FUR TECHNISCHEN FORTSCHRITT. Oct. 19, 1936, No. 28404. Convention date, Oct. 26, 1935. [Class 108 (iii)] A rubber block 1 adhesively secured between metal surfaces 2, 3 of equal area is provided with a cross-section, in the zones adjacent the metal surfaces, which is at least equal to that of the metal surface but which diminishes to a smaller cross-section in the middle zones. In Figs. 1 and 2, the circular, square, &c. plates 2, 3 are attached to the rubber block 1 which is recessed at 4 so that in shear, Fig. 2, the edges of the rubber attached to the plate takes little or no stress. One side of the rubber block may be flat and the edges of the plate may be bevelled or the plates embedded in the rubber block as at 6, Fig. 5.
