Abstract

390,396. Electric battery lamps. P‡LA, J. J., Slany, Czecho-Slovakia. Aug. 12, 1932, No. 22604. [Class 39 (ii).] The battery 1, Figs. 1 and 2, of an electric battery lamp is formed with a recess within which is fixed a metal socket 2 for a lampholder 5 adapted to be pushed therein and retained in position by the frictional grip of a spring tongue 3 projecting from the wall of the socket, the lampholder being formed with two oppositely disposed peripheral slots 7 to receive a spring contact tongue 4 connected to one pole of the battery. Between the slots 7 the lampholder is provided with vertical grooves 8. To complete the lamp circuit the holder is rotated to enable the tongue 4 to project through a slot 7 and bear upon the screwed metal cap of the lamp bulb, the circuit being broken by rotating the lampholder so that the tongue 4 snaps into a groove 8. The upper portion of the lampholder may be made of larger diameter than the lower portion and screwthreaded to receive a protecting-cap carrying a lens.
