Abstract
389,088. Fuel-injection pumps. FIAT SOC. ANON., 250, Via Nizza, Turin, Italy. Sept. 7, 1931, No. 25129. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1930. [Class 102 (i).] In a fuel - injection pump a cylindrical discharge valve 1 is employed controlling passages 9, 91 and grooves 8, 8<1> leading to a discharge chamber 10. The valve is acted on by a spring 3 and the return of the valve on completion of discharge causes a fall of pressure in the chamber 10. The valve 1 may be formed with a face at its lower end engaging a seating 2, or may be formed with a valve head engaging a seating at the upper end of the bushing 4, the discharge passages and groove in this case being formed internally in the bushing 4 and opening into the valve seating. Alternatively the valve 1 may be provided with a collar limiting its axial movement.
