Abstract
382,835. Tools for applying cement and the like. PAIX ET CIE, 17, Rue Saint Thomas, Douai, Nord, France. Feb. 19, 1932, No. 4969. Convention date, March 17, 1931. [Class 61 (ii).] A tool for applying waterproof strips in glazing or the like comprises a frame 1 and rollers 18, 27 over which the strip is fed and two suitably shaped rollers by which it is applied to the joints between the sheets 7 and the astragal 10. The roller 18 is held between lock nuts on the screwed spindle 17 and guides 20 are adjustably secured to the same spindle by locknuts. The roller 27 is mounted on a spring-controlled spindle 25 connected to the spindle 17 by pivoted arms 23 and serves to stretch the material. Guides 29 are also adjustably secured to the spindle 25. A removable reservoir and blow lamps 41 for heating the strip or strip-spraying apparatus are carried by one of the arms 8. A front guide 33 is carried by collars 31 at the end of the arms 8. The axles of the rollers 9 may be inclined to the transverse plane at a small angle y. A handle 4 is secured to a bowed frame member 2 and adjustable supports 5 are provided on the frame.
