Abstract

382,723. Walls ; slabs. DYKE, H., 49, Beatrice Avenue, Norbury, London. Sept. 30, 1931, No. 27275. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i).] Relates to building slabs of the kind comprising inner and outer skins separated by a cavity and having interconnected reinforcement. According to the invention, the outer skin is composed of artificial bricks or slabs c provided with holes h to receive reinforcing rods or tubes n, the reinforcement of the skins being interlocked by ties m. The outer skin may be assembled in the frame described in Specification 320,353, [Class 20 (iv), Floors &c.], and the inner skin h of concrete cast thereon in a mould, cores being provided to form air spaces f between concrete webs. The reinforcement preferably consists of rods o, Fig. 2, carrying tubes u at their lower ends and projecting at the upper end to engage in the tubes u of the slab above. The projecting parts of the rods may be screw-threaded to engage lifting-hooks. The edges of the slabs are recessed at g to receive grouting material. At the corners the slabs carry projecting irons r adapted to be wired together, the resulting cavity being filled with concrete. The inner skin may also be of bricks.
