Abstract

266,956. Bemis, A. F. Dec. 14, 1925. Slabs; facing slabs.- A unit for building walls, floors, and roofs is covered on one or both sides with slabs 107, Figs. 1 and 2, secured by ties 104, or by wires engaging eyes on the slabs. The units are storey-high or span from wall to wall, are preferably tubular, and may be aligned by stretcher members 57 provided with projections 56, or by other aligning means as described in Specification 259,421. The units and slabs may be composed of material such as fibre board, paper board, wood, stucco, clay, gypsum, or other cementitious material with or without fibrous or granular aggregate. Openings 50 may register with the units or with the spaces between them for pouring a cement filling. A girt or binding course may be cast monolithic with the floor filling 109, the ends of the floor units being closed by plates 103. The slabs may be shaped on their inner faces to fit or embrace the units 51.
