Abstract

598,690. Composite building-slabs. MALTHOUSE, E. G. Nov. 8, 1945, No. 29787. [Class 87(i)] A building-slab comprising a layer 15 of dense concrete formed with an integral marginal flange 16 and if desired intermediate ribs 17, the spaces between which are filled with porous concrete 14, is provided with a reinforcement 18 in the layer 15 connected by portions 19 to a reinforcement adjacent the opposite face of the slab. In a modification, the slab comprises a reinforced outer casing 21, 22, 23 of dense concrete with a filling 20 of porous concrete. The edges may be grooved at 28 and facings 25, 26 of plaster, compressed board, cork, asphalt &c. may be added. Adjacent slabs may be connected together as described in Specification 592,670, [Group VIII]. Specification 598,687 also is referred to.
