Abstract

620,786. Walls. TESSIER, R. P. V., and LABOURASSE, R. L. J. Jan. 6, 1947, No. 432. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1946. [Class 20(iv)] Cavity walls are built from pairs of slabs 1, 2 having ribs 5, 9, the ribs of one slab of each pair being nearer the edges of that slab than are those of the other slab whereby on assembly the ribs of one slab fit on to those of the other and define the cavities. The ribs are profiled as shown to facilitate assembly and they are connected by concrete keys 3. The ribs 5 and extensions 12, 13 of the slabs define spaces 14 which are filled with reinforced concrete cast in situ as the building proceeds to form the columns of the walls. The outer face of the outer slabs may be given a. coating containing grains of quartzite. A specially shaped corner element 16 is provided.
