Abstract

615,910. Walls. TREVOUX, G. Jan. 17, 1946, No. 1626. Convention date, Jan. 17, 1945. [Class 20(iv)] In a hollow or cavity wall structure as in Specification 529,803, the elements of the blocks comprise a common end element 3a for two adjacent blocks an upper member 2a of U-section, a lower member 2 having two holes 20 and converging and diverging grooves 5 in the lower face, the ends of the upper and lower elements being formed with single dovetail their length. A reinforced concrete tenon to join adjacent elements 2 or 2a is preformed or cast in situ. Grooves 11 in the end elements may be of dovetail or semicircular shape. The sides 4 which are reinforced by ribs 22, and window frames 12 are received in grooves 7 in the elements 2, 2a, and in grooves 10 in the end members. Beading 9 on the end members fits into grooves 6 in the elements 2, 2a. To change the direction of the wall through 45 degrees or 90 degrees use is made of corner elements 13, 14 respectively, which may be formed integral with end elements 3 on one or two faces as indicated in Figs. 3, 7. Supplementary elements formed similarly to members 2, 2a, e.g. 13c, 14c, are placed below and above the corner members and grouted to adjacent members 2, 2a. When two walls cross or join at right angles members 15a are used in positions corresponding to 2, 2a. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also members 15b for use above members 15a. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
