[Class 132 (iii)] A toy building block comprises a hollow thin walled body with projections or bosses on the face opposite the open face and disposed so as to be capable of engagement within the inner surfaces of the lateral walls of a superimposed block, with at least one vertical slot through a lateral wall of the block. Fig. 2 shows a plan of a block of square cross-section, the block being provided with bosses 13 and slots 14. As shown in Fig. 4, the slot tapers from the outer wall face to the inner face and is provided with thickened portions 14a to increase the strength of the wall at the slot and to prevent chipping. Fig. 6 shows a quadrantal block with three bosses and slots in its plane sides, Fig. 1 a block of rectangular section with slots in its shorter sides, and Fig. 7 shows a block of similar size provided with one quadrantal end. Window, door, gate and other elements fit into the slots of the blocks when they are built up into a structure. A block without bosses or with one pair instead of several pairs, and an alternative block with a cap or flattened ridge (Fig. 12) may be provided to finish off the structure.
