Abstract

676,469. Toy building blocks. DIE CASTING MACHINE TOOLS, Ltd., and MILLS, A. R. Feb. 23, 1951 [Feb. 24, 1950; Feb. 24, 1950], Nos. 4830/50 and 4850/50. Class 132 (iii). A toy building block of hollow construction with an open face is provided on the side 10 opposite the open face with outwardly extending projections 11, and corresponding inwardly extending projections 12 which are engageable with the projections 11 of a similar block when the blocks are superimposed. The projections 12 extend through the block as far as the plane of the open face and a channel 19 is formed in one end face of each block to permit windows, doors and the like to be secured e.g. when the blocks form a wall. Holes 20 may be formed in the face 10 for lightness and economy of material. Halfblocks, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown), may be used to provide a straight vertical face for the end of a wall or for the sides of windows or doors. The blocks may be of plastic or die-cast of metal and the projections 11, 12 may be of square or other section.
