HEYWOOD AIR-TIGHT DAMPER CO., Ltd., Grove Foundry, Gomersal, near Leeds, HEYWOOD, T., 83, Leeds Road, Liversedge, and PORTEUS, G. ; 52, Trinity Terrace, Birstall, all in Yorkshire. Nov. 9, 1931, No. 30983. [Class 51 (i).] The grate of a boiler furnace is formed of tubular members 1, Fig. 3, adapted to fit the lower part of the boiler flue and having a perforated concave upper surface, a central rib 2 and projections and recesses at opposite ends to engage with corresponding recesses and projections on adjacent members. As shown in Fig. 9, air is supplied to the grate sections by a valve-controlled pipe 10. The front and rear sections are slightly modified while the rear section is blanked off by a plate 6. A plate 7 of the form shown in Fig. 6 supports the firebridge which is retained in place by a plate 8 secured to the plate 7 by bolts engaging with lugs 8.
