Abstract
343,301. Bricks for fireplaces. MAcNAMARA, C. M., 30, Moir Street, and MURRAY, J. C., 17, Clarence Drive, Hyndland, both in Glasgow. Feb. 5, 1930, No. 3850. [Class 87 (i).] Bricks 8 .. 11 which are superposed to form an open fireplace with front and rear flues 14, 7 are of a shape which in plan resembles an H. The bricks shown all comprise similar side members, the front parts of which are splayed to form the side walls of the fireplace, as shown in Fig. 5, which represents a plan of the brick 10, and each brick is formed with a cross member, which, in the case of the bricks 9, 10, 11, is hollow to form the front flue 14. The rear flue 7 is bounded by the cross member and side walls of the bricks and by the back of the fireplace recess. The cross member 3 of the bottom brick is formed with a tapered port 4 leading to the rear flue, and a tapered port 15 in the cross member 12 of the brick 9 leads to the flue 14.
