458,207. Firegrates. HEYWOOD AIR - TIGHT DAMPER CO., Ltd., Grove Foundry, Gomersal, near Leeds, and HEYWOOD, T., 83, Leeds Road, Liversedge, both in Yorkshire. Oct. 25, 1935, No. 29448. [Class 51 (i)] A firegrate for a boiler furnace is formed of a number of tubular sections 1, which fit the firetube of the boiler, having firebars 2 supported on front and rear bearers 3 and provided with holes 4 for the passage of air from the air passage beneath. The holes 4 are tapered or have tapered entrances and extend through the crests of the corrugations in the upper surfaces of the bars. The joints between adjacent bars are covered by flanges 5. The tubular sections are provided with air-heating passages 6.
